Supplier evaluation

Five questions to ask any peptide supplier before your next order.

Every product page looks the same. Same purity number, same stock photo, same vague promise. The differences only show up once an order is placed and something goes wrong. Five questions worth asking — including us.

01

Where is the COA actually from?

Independent third-party lab, or in-house claim? Ask for the lab name and a sample COA before you commit. Generic spec sheets pasted on every product page are not COAs. Ours: third-party HPLC + mass spec, batch-tied, sent on request after your order ships — not the same generic batch sheet from six months ago.

02

Is the compound lyophilized — and does that matter?

Liquid peptides need cold-chain or they degrade in transit. Lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides are shelf-stable at ambient for a tracked domestic transit window — that's the whole point of lyophilization. Ask any supplier whether they ship lyo or liquid, and how the vial is sealed. Ours: lyophilized, sealed in a foil-lined mailer, tracked carrier, same-business-day dispatch. Refrigerate after reconstitution per the storage card on each batch.

03

Will support reply when something goes wrong?

Lost package. Damaged seal. COA request. The supplier that ghosts on the easy stuff will ghost on the hard stuff. We reply, same business day, real human, same email address you ordered from. Not a chatbot, not a ticket black hole.

04

Is the same batch line still available in 30 days?

Reorder consistency only matters if the supplier doesn't run out mid-stack. Ask any supplier when their next production cycle is and how they handle batch-line gaps. We hold inventory windows by batch and post lead-time updates by SKU.

05

What happens when something goes wrong?

Replace, refund, no argument. That's the contract. If the seal is compromised, the wrong batch ships, or the package arrives damaged — reply to your order email with your order ID. We replace or refund the affected items. No claim form, no insurance dance.

If a supplier passes all five, reorder with them. If we don't, hold us to the same standard — reply to any order email with the question and we'll answer.

Common questions

If you're still evaluating.

  • What's the actual difference between a COA and a spec sheet?

A spec sheet is the manufacturer's product description: "≥99% purity, X formula". A COA (Certificate of Analysis) is the result of an independent test on a specific batch — with the lab name, accreditation, batch ID, and the test methodology. Spec sheets travel; COAs are tied to a specific shipment. Real suppliers send the COA, not the spec sheet, when you reply to your order email.

  • Do you ship the same SKU as a one-time order vs a subscription?

Yes — same compound, same batch line. Subscription customers get the Founders' Kit free on order one and a deeper price on every shipment. One-time orders pay list and ship without the kit.

  • What's in the Founders' Kit?

Five pieces: a batch documentation binder, a bench thermometer, a research-grade bacteriostatic water reagent, a per-batch storage card with reconstitution worksheet, and a folded note from the chemistry lead. Roughly $110 of value. Free with your first subscription order, unavailable on one-time.
